Race Directors

Guidelines for TTCS Series Member Race Directors

The Texas Trail Championship Series was created in 2013, initially with the Tejas Trails races. Since then, it has grown, adding more races every year. The races included are either TRAIL or ULTRA, which needs some defining. Our desire is to keep it off-road, but allow races on track or road at distances beyond the marathon distance. And we are particular to which races we include as well. We'd like to think these races are organized, insured, and pass the basic idea of a well run race. So, if you have any questions, contact Joe Prusaitis.

Calendar: Check our calendar for the current lineup of races: This should be your reference in an attempt avoid stepping on another race.

Race Director Fees: There is none.
Runner Fees: There is none.
Club Fees: There is none.

Individual Awards: Individual winners of each age category each season are eligible for a 50% discount into your race for the season immediately after they have won. So, a 2022 Spring season winner can get a 50% discount at any member race in the Fall of 2022.

Team Awards: Team winners win the coveted YETI cooler which is passed from season to season to the next winner. But, we no longer fill it with beer because we no longer collect any money to do so. That one's on you. There is one cooler for ULTRA and one for TRAIL.

About Race Conflicts: We do everything we can, as do all the race directors on this list, to avoid conflicts. But, sometimes these just cant be avoided. But, as long as we continue to work together, we will find the best possible solution for every conflict as it arises. After all, it does nobody any good to have conflicting venues on the same weekend. Everybody loses. Please understand that I actively work with each of you to avoid conflicts. Best way to avoid these is to post race dates as soon as possible, or you will be left with taking what is left, or finally bumping heads with another race venue over race dates.

WORKING with Each Other: We have a phenomenal thing going on here: A state-wide TRAIL / ULTRA point series. We draw in a lion's share of trail runners to these races. Besides all the other great reasons, people are now also going to your race to collect points. Maybe you are seeing runners you might not have seen before. And it's only getting better... and BIGGER! It would do us all well to support each other By Posting a link to this website and the logo, if for no other reason that to link to the calendar. If we all link to the calendar, then all the races should see more runners eyes looking at your race - because they will see ALL of them. So, please post this link, and talk up this series. Because you have to know, OUR trail running Community is Growing.

Balancing SPRING & FALL Seasons: We do our best to balance the calendar with an equal amount of races between SPRING & FALL, but of course, this is never perfect. The midseason break typically split's mid-summer.
